Pros

+ Teachers are generally excellent and work hard + Salary is ok + Smaller class sizes than average + Students are mostly well behaved and respectful

Cons

- teaching staff have no voice, all decisions are made above without regard of how things actually work in the classroom - constant changes in pedagogy - behaviour of older students is generally ignored and not dealt with, teachers are undermined by senior leaders - most staff feel there is no job security - if your face doesn't fit you disappear! Lots of examples of constructive dismissal and bullying. - poor communication in all aspects - staff do not feel valued - lots of paper pushing with no benefit to teachers or students.

Great opportunity to network with other educators across the globe. Opportunities to travel. Professional Development is mandatory so that is a bonus if you are a life long learner. Better grasp of what a global school looks like. First hand experience of using the blended approach teaching style and how to teach virtually.

Cons

School is ran like a business. Unfair pay based on your location. Overworked. Your actual teaching qualification is not considered very much when scheduling you for classes. High employee turnover rate.
