Too much favoritism and play and not enough work

Pros

Loved the office...Starbucks coffee, soda machine, candy bar, snacks...all free. And a fridge full of beer and alcohol...also free!

Cons

No one seemed to work while in the office. In my first week, we went out to lunch 3 days for 2 hours each time! No training from my "supervisor" who also got mad and made up stories about me. I taught myself what to do and was given kudos from managers and my supervisor was jealous and had me fired...no documentation or warnings at all

Worked at a collection agency for them advised them it was to stressful for me and was belittled and asked for different assignment but didn't receive a response

Pros

I found my time at SmartIT to be a wonderful and enjoyable experience. The work was challenging and demanding at times, but the management team had reasonable expectations, and were honest and consistent in their feedback, and I can say nothing but they dealt fairly with me throughout my nearly 9 years there.

Cons

The company has went through a number of changes due to some realignment of company goals and management approach. As a result, people who might have fit in well 5 years ago are not as good a fit today. That is to be expected in any growing business, you can't please everyone. But I found there everyone was given a chance, and was handled professionally even if they choose to depart.
