Honest opinion based on my experiences

Pros

There were great things about working with SmartIT. There is a state of the art office with some amenities that decent hotels don't offer, some amazing co-workers, parties, food, and the ability to give time to charity. I also believe that my personal new employee training was pretty great. I never really experienced anyone else receiving that kind of treatment, but it really helped me jump start my knowledge.

Cons

The amount of meetings that one needed to attend for inter office policies, procedures, day-to-day monitoring, and company changes became a little ridiculous after a while. It started to affect my ability to become productive. Also, because the company was/is undergoing so many changes, there was a feeling that you constantly never knew if your position was safe. And remember, this is my personal opinion. A lot of that had to do with the office politics, drama, and cliques. I understand, there is no getting over most of that, but it seemed like it ruled the office. Additionally, I personally was struggling with my position and I felt that there was really no one there, other than my co-workers rooting for me. Upper management seemed to be focused less on internal issues and more on the massive company overhaul.

Why Glassdoor is so important!!!

Pros

Per the glass door policy and agreement you can only write one review per year. So, if you choose to write more than one review in a year's time then the last review you wrote is removed. The beauty of this is that no one individual can slam a company over and over again repeatedly. The idea that one disgruntled employee can trash an entire company's reputation on this site is moronically absurd and a misunderstanding of how glass door works.

Cons

If you are a producer, plan on a large pay cut somewhere down the line. Due to this, the most talented people leave and there is no growth. Not a bad place for a beginner in the business, but if your a seasoned professional looking for stability, you will be easily turned off by the high school like culture of clicks, the unprofessional nature of the management, and them cutting your pay plan. The worst part about this is they will bad mouth you to other companies. The management here will stop at no end to make sure that everyone in the field knows their opinion of you after they cut your pay plan and you decide to move on to better opportunities. Extremely unprofessional company to work for.
