My first six months with Montrose as a field technician(stack)
Pros
Montrose is currently my first real job since graduating college last year in 2022, and I can say that it has been a great experience so far. I am currently part of our stack division and working as a field technician. The company's mission and core values are something that align with my own and I believe the work we do serves a good purpose. There is also a lot of flexibility when it comes to relocation and positions. As a technician, I get a lot of hours as well as travel time, so if your desire is not to sit at a desk all day, this is a good job for you. The management and personnel of the stack division are excellent and probably the biggest factor in my satisfaction with the company so far. At Montrose, we work as a well-oiled machine and so everybody helps each other out in order to get the job done. As a new hire, I have gotten superb treatment by management. They make me feel valued and I can tell that they genuinely want me to improve and succeed.
Cons
As a technician for the stack division at Montrose, I work in the field most of time, which often means more hours/overtime as well as travel. While this sounds great on paper, there can be times when it becomes a little exhausting. The work we do involves a lot of physical labor and discipline, so overexertion can come into play occasionally. However, the management at Montrose is aware of this and always looks out for their employees. If you are getting a bit overwhelmed by the hours and field work, they will accommodate you as best they can to keep you from burning out.
