Next generation of Environmental Services

Pros

Montrose is a growing company with lots of opportunity for career advancement or career path changes. Montrose was founded with the vision of bringing industries together that are all related to analytical and environmental test and measurement services. Environmental engineering, stack testing, and laboratory analysis are typically separate entities, but Montrose is uniting them to help support and integrate capabilities. There is a lot that needs to happen before this vision is fully executed, but if you want to be a part of something new and help form a path forward, this could be the place for you. As with any new venture, there are many things that need to be worked out and can be painful at times, but the intentions and intelligence driving the decisions are very good. Montrose is a big company, but it still manages to maintain the small company feel. The CEO and VP make themselves available to all employees, regardless of their rank. During acquisitions, they have been careful to maintain top talent, which has resulted in a wealth of knowledge from upper management about the various scientific methods used. It is a great place to learn and grow and I recommend it to anyone who has a passion in science, the environment, or even business management.

Cons

Not all systems are in places and there are many efficiency improvements that need to be made. This can impact you in ways related to accuracy and responsiveness from corporate departments.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that our employees see the vision that was set forth for the organization. It is true that when you are going through change, you can’t always feel the impact of your accomplishments yet. We are continuing to invest in our people and systems, and look forward to see what we can accomplish as an organization with the work we’ve been putting in place.

Steady Improvement

Pros

This company is on the right path and has made major improvements over the 3+ years that I've been employed here. There have been plenty of bumps in the road, but the current senior management staff has made significant progress in getting people moved into the positions for which they are best suited. Benefits are good, including paid time off policy, an there is plenty of room for advancement. I have been promoted twice since Montrose purchased the company I worked for. Overall, a great group of people to work with, but if you are not interested in a challenging, competitive, environment this might not be the company for you. If you are looking for a technician or Project Management position in the AQS division, plan on travelling fequently (same as any other source testing company).

Cons

Some internal policies, procedures, and programs need to be revised to keep up with the rapid growth of the company.

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We are encouraged by the positive remarks. As a growing organization, our aim is to continuously improve our policies, procedures, and programs. Earlier this year, we completed our first Employee Engagement Survey to solicit more employee feedback. We take the feedback from our employees seriously, and we will continue to solicit feedback on a regular basis. This feedback is taken into consideration when new policies, procedures, and programs are developed. One of the benefits of being a growing organization is that we are able to provide opportunities to people such as yourself. We are continuing to identify, develop, and invest in our internal talent by allowing our employees the opportunity to transfer to our other offices around the U.S.
