Pros

The culture is motivating, fun, challenging, and evolving as we grow into an incredible company. I see a very exciting future with OpenGov with the best board in Silicon Valley, some of the brightest Executives and Engineers in the industry, and our product leading the Civic Tech movement.

Cons

I don't have any cons to share; OpenGov is a great company to work for and I am happy to be a part of the team.

Putting the Cool in Government and Enjoying Doing It!

Pros

-Mature leadership team - bringing great vision and structure to teams on how we get to the next level -Great market - a dream to sell to a market that is under-served, far more responsive and loves our product. It's not quite as scary as what "selling to government" is perceived as.. -Solid platform - nimble and agile enough to make vast improvements to the product in short order. While I'm not a UI/UX person, I appreciate the slickness of the product. -Rewards high-achievers - the 6 month review process is an awesome process. A lot of companies tout this, but very real motivation to over-achieve in the company. -GREAT benefits - paid laundry, 1/2 of gym, food, Lyft for those taking Caltrain, housing stipend for nearby workers, snacks, etc make the hard work even more worthwhile! -Great people to come to work with everyday

Cons

-With all of the pro's, can't overlook it is a startup -There's a ton to do, plenty of problems to solve, content to create, and governments to sell --- but requires being self-sufficient when resources aren't available -Visibility is a double-edged sword - there's no hiding out in a company this size

Work on tough problems with smart people

Pros

The people. You get to work with smart, passionate, and humble people across every department. We've brought in top senior leadership from successful companies (i.e. Salesforce, Box, IBM, Zuora). The vision. The entire company rallies behind transforming how governments allocate public money to achieve the right outcomes for their citizens. The impact. You can feel the benefit of your work as you talk with local governments across the nation. Hearing about the benefit our technology has on their day-to-day operations is intoxicating. It also helps that the perks are fantastic :-)

Cons

As the company has grown there have been growing pains. Things have been a little chaotic at times but we're getting our feet underneath us through the help of recent hires.
