No "I" in Government. No "I" in OpenGov

Pros

* A customer first, winning culture * Transparent, approachable, and engaged leadership focused on building and setting up it's people, brand, and products for long term success in the market. * Uber talented, intelligent, and cross functional teams that are truly engrossed in the development and support of efficiency and transformative business tools for government. * Surrounded by very experienced, diverse, and dynamic pool of talent that still manages to be a very genuine, authentic, and positive collective. Working with and learning from/alongside my teammates is very humbling and rewarding. * An energy for living the mission, living the culture, and living the values of OpenGov is a daily initiative and a collaborative effort. OpenGov puts these front and center (I promise anyone, you can't miss them). It's just a very cyclical concept that works. Believe. Practice. Repeat. In the reflection of the "Pros" of being a part of this rocketship company, the words that my spouse has chosen to fashionably decorate our dining room with here land with clarity and define my final thoughts: “Blessed" "Grateful" "Family.”

Cons

* Being a dynamic, fast paced, software startup within a competitive market, change is expected to be managed quickly. Everyone needs to be onboard for these challenges. * 401k matching would be great but equity and other great company benefits have real weight

Pros

- Strong technical abilities and high-caliber employees - Exceptional EQ across the org - Accountability: teammates hold themselves to the standards they set for themselves and work with others to meet their respective goals - Purpose to the work day: we're all trying to power more effective and accountable government--it shows in the numbers we have and the quality of the work we do!

Cons

[More of a challenge rather than a con] As in any startup culture, this place moves -fast-. It may be a challenge to adjust to the cadence of this company but far from impossible/unbearable. Once your work pace with the quarter is nailed down, there is never a boring day and work is fulfilling!

Pros

The hiring process was by far the best experience I've ever had with a new company. Lissy Quentin was wonderful to work with. She regularly checked in with me throughout the interview process to make sure that all my questions were answered, and she was very helpful in setting clear expectations for me. I've been with the company for 3 months now, and I really love it. They care so much about hiring the right people who care about the mission to power more effective and accountable governments. I've never worked at a company where people genuinely care about one another and strive to help each other succeed. It's an added bonus that we are helping governments where they need it the most.

Cons

This is not a "con," but be prepared to work hard! Hard work pays off, and it makes it all the more worth it when you work with such a talented and friendly group of individuals.
