Pros

my team and manager are absolutely amazing helpful people.

Cons

There are too many to list, so I'll just hit the big ones--starting with the biggest: After submitting my letter of resignation, a member of upper management scheduled a call with me to talk about my reasons for leaving. After giving them my reasons, they spent the next 20 minutes telling me that I was stupid and naive and that my reasons for leaving weren't valid. After all this, they tried manipulating me by telling me that I would never find a job better than this one and that when I realized I made a mistake, they would welcome me back. Other than that, the c suite is too insecure to be able to justify decisions made for the company. no clear guidance on where the company will grow since there is a limited market. no one but the sales team is ever recognized for their work, the company priorities are clearly on feeding egos and not building a functional, sustainable business.

High turnover, dubious culture

Pros

Medium pay. Product and mission are valuable in theory.

Cons

Increasingly had the "toxic workplace, high turnover" vibe. Managers would give you feedback that other people are talking about you, and would ask you to badmouth other people in turn. Managers and execs seemed fearful for their jobs, and brought that energy with them. A clear focus on optics over effectiveness, and a prevailing fear of reprisals hung over claims of openness like a sewage cloud. There were perks (unlimited vacation) but employees seemed punished for using them (e.g. absurd billable hour rates that are impossible to hit if you take vacations). Nominally process improvement plans for struggling teammates existed but people across engineering and professional services both manager and IC-level still seemed to disappear in the night as if they'd been abducted by the secret police. Paid lip service towards diversity, but made no tangible plans (talked a lot about emphasizing referrals from our majority white, male workforce, which does the exact opposite). Refused to release gender equity pay data seemingly until forced by law. Seemed to see no actual value in diversity beyond lip service for PR. All that plus pay is middling. You can definitely do better.

Pros

Good base pay for entry level, pretty easy role overall

Cons

Leadership team. The leadership team is composed of referrals from executives who take advantage of referral bonus. Their only goal is to IPO and they have no desire to support current staff. HR is comprised of said employees, and you will be reprimanded for reporting misconduct from anyone in leadership. There is no growth, they will pretend to want to develop staff but will bring on outside hires whenever a position opens up regardless of your performance or tenure. No 401k, and bad fraternity style culture where your leadership’s personal networks are the most taken care of. Use this place for experience on the resume then RUN.
