Smoke and mirrors

Business Outlook

Pros

OK technology, expanding market space Good work - life balance. Good company if you want to make OK money, not advance and work only 9:00 - 5:00.

Cons

Complete old boys club and bully culture - CEO surrounded by yes MEN who follow orders. Managers are overworked and have little autonomy. Just follow orders environment. No travel, only online training prescribed by HR. Decent pay and benefits - no pension, awful stock purchase program. Poor maternity leave benefits given that we are not in the 1950s anymore.

Pros

We are entering an exciting new phase as an organisation but that necessarily requires some change in both thinking and attitude. However the direction we are going is the right one even if the waters are a bit choppy just now

Cons

A lot of the sense of opentext community seems to have left the business just now and there's a sense of all work no play which I believe that balance needs to change.
