Then in almost the same breath justifying our own return to office mandate by saying "companies that stay remote will fail in five years". I hope our clients weren't listening, and if they were, I hope they don't ask for their money back.

Micromanagement at the exec level. The compensation and annual review system is broken. You can perform well for the year and get a high review score, but not receive a raise. Not even anything to combat inflation. The average salaries for many positions is not competitive. This leads to many good employees leaving with years of knowledge with them. Leadership lacks clear direction and expect results while also not providing enough resources to complete projects.
