Pros

Work from home. Great PTO when you can take it. Good benefits package, reasonable costs. 401K match is ok. Old solutions but still have a place in the market.

Cons

Outrageously high turn over for Account Executives and Solution Consultants. So many new people that it takes over a year to close your first deal, unless you are lucky. Less than 10% of AE’s make their quota. Management manages KPI’s, not sales opportunities. Expect a tongue lashing when you miss your weekly KPI’s. Annual ethics, security online training. Too bad this is not enforced in the field. So many bad deals and deceptive selling takes place. Close the deal at whatever costs. Organic growth is minimal and acquisitions are they way Opentext continues to thrive. Deal splits are common in many deals and executive management allows higher splits than what the rules for splits dictate. Inside Sales is allowed to grab deals even when the account is specifically named. Executive Management allows it to happen. Cloud deals max payout is 50% MCV. Sap deals get only 40% commission. Delayed commissions on maintenance revenue from SAP by 4 months. If you leave, you don’t get paid.

Pros

This place need engineering talent badly. Engineer has job security because dev managers don't know anything. If you need to get foot in door, this is good place to start because competitive candidates don't want work here. It's good place for average pay check.

Cons

Unfortunately, most negative comment about company in true. Company grows by acquisition, they acquire companies, cut fat and hold on to make back money; company don't know how to grow through successful technology or products. Big joke. They treat employees like garbage. The leadership and management profiling employees and getting away with whatever they can. During exit interview they ask positive glassdoor reviews from employees. If offered severance, they want you to sign agreement to never speak out against the company or file law suit. I advise have lawyer assist with negotiations in this circumstance.

The Bliss of Company Policy Ignorance

Pros

Maybe the stock plan, but given how the company purchases nearly every struggling platform they see as a fit into their cloud offering not sure how long it will be a pro.

Cons

Management renege on promises to employees during performance reviews as HR changes the performance guidelines every 6-12 months to get out of them. So HR constantly moves the goal line when it comes to the next performance review. Or HR states it has no budget to give the employee who makes their performance objective a promotion or raise while the company goes out and spends millions on another company to acquire. Also in nearly all positions, if not all, working a 60 hour week is expected, if not more. The company also uses a completely outdated pay scale to determine employee pay in a particular location, while other companies pay the same resources what they are worth. This is causing the company to suffer a significant loss of talent.
