Pros

(This is for R&D) Lots of vacation time. They shut down over Christmas for a week, you get three weeks to start and after about 6 years you get another week. They also give a new father two extra weeks to use within 12 months of a baby being born so in total you could have 7 weeks vacation in a year. The work and life balance is great. You can come and go as you please. Good benefits!

Cons

Many employees are gone at least once a week because they are "sick". This has caused a culture where a core group of people are doing almost all the work while everyone else gets a free ride. This causes the good employees to leave the company. Upper management does not acknowledge when there is a problem because if they did, they would actually have to make changes. Salary is low and raises are slow. People are leaving R&D in droves. At least once a week one or more people have quit. The CEO is not that great. He has not been carrying forward the values that OpenText has had in the past. This is the place you work when you are looking to find a final resting place for your career. Some of the people here have been here far too long and there is rampant gossip and people who you would not want to work with but nobody gets reprimanded.
