Pros

OpenText offers some very little benefits, some other companies do not offer.

Cons

OpenText has a nice marketing branch which paints everything and all in fancy colours. Red Oxygen - this is what everybody needs! Or what OpenText thinks what companies need. Or what they want to think... Before OpenText starts offering the 'old stuff', wrapped with new glamorous names they should review the products they have and offer a leaner product line. Pros

Great work environment, smart, talented, loyal people who owned the company vision. Management was great, they promoted from within, whenever possible. Friends who now work at OpenText are happy.

Cons

The product was extremely technical

Pros

- Company is doing well, they effectively acquire 2 companies a year on average, milk the maintenance, get rid of dead wood & duplicate services, and pour minimal R&D into new products - Salary's are market average - Stock is doing very well - Benefits are on par with most US/Canadian software companies - Majority of people have been there for a long time

Cons

- Support management are very clicky with each other, you will struggle to break into the group and therefore career in any aspect is very limited - Agencies are reluctant to hire you of you worked here, they have a belief that majority of people lack skills suitable in other companies - Most people don't leave because they have been there so long that they are scared to leave - Young managers are often unprofessional & lack experience - If you have been acquired, your best bet is to leave unless they offer you a good position, most of your team will eventually dissipate - Culture is often lacking, good games room & breakout area, many events organised however very little acknowledgement of hard work and effort - Products mostly cannot integrate with each other, company grows by acquisition with little thought on product integration, as such they sometimes have multiple products that do the same thing - In Canada, this is a great place to work, don't be fooled by this in Reading or other Euorpean locations - Treat employees with little respect
