Management has taken comments like yours very seriously and is working to remedy the compartmentalized culture that evolved without anyone being aware that it had happened. We now have company-wide events (barbecues, bowling, pot lucks) that bring employees together from all departments, where software devs get to know customer service reps get to know accountants.
