Pros

Most of the workers are great and friendly. Party's are cool and food trucks in summer are cool. CEO has a solid head on his shoulders. Potential is there is be the best workplace around. It did for a time after I started but went downhill quick. Little over a year ago it was great. Upper management get rid of the 2 production managers and the know bad Apple group lead you will likely have an amazing place to be at again.

Cons

Past year, management from another company get hired, bring with them their terrible micro management and they bring former workers and their bad habits as well. Best know they got extra pay no based off skill, extra vacation week and what seems like a total immunity to do what they please. Don't even think of going to HR on them you'll just be written up for trying. Both production managers are absolutely the worst humans possible. Kiss their a** and your good, push back on anything including disagreement your likely to be put somewhere you don't like to be forced out. Best be at your bench and forget about talking to a coworker. You'll be accused of disrupting others and stealing company time, to only see them stand and chat to anyone else on their team for a fair duration of time shortly after your spoken too. Expect to be watched daily(like manager lurking around corners trying to hide to watch you) will watch your daily output and write you up if you don't hit your mark by a few items regardless of the reason. It's always you wasting time and not doing your job. Managers refuse to come to the floor and understand what the process is and how long it actually takes to do said process. Just listens to the floor lead and rolls with it. Floor lead is a terrible person to lead. Will throw you to the wolves to look better then the team he runs. Never want to work on the camera line. You will either get stuck there, get to move and try something new but once disliked your essentially put there to quit. It's like pulling teeth to learn a new process, if you ask usually get told sorry nothing you can go to, but be the first to accuse you of not wanting to cross train or learn something new(ugh what) it's all on who you know!! Favoritism runs wild for anyone in close with the managers or if you have a family member the managers like. You'll get your shot at something your not even qualified to do. Then someone who is will not get a chance to do it. Forget about HR. They are not your friends or helpful at that. You can warn then about work place harassment and you feel attacked. Get ready for a write up for being too negative and being a disruption. Puts on round table meetings for employees but does nothing of what's brought forth. Like I said amazing work for the first 6-8months then the new managers from another optics company came in and it's falling on its face because of them.

Pros

The company is growing and with that has a lot of opportunity for those who are looking for a place to make an impact. If you are the kind of person who likes to work on a variety of projects then this is a great place to work. If you are the type that is looking to hide in your cube unnoticed and just skate by keep looking, you are not going to be happy at Optics 1. The company is full of really great, hard working people who believe in the products they build. You may see some negative reviews on here but I can tell you that most of those are in fact false and the people were just not a good fit for the culture or didn't get an offer so they decided to post.

Cons

I have never worked for a perfect company nor do I know anyone who has. All companies have something that not every employee will like or agree with, but that is what I would consider normal. Could some things be improved upon of course, but I think the management as a whole is doing a great job and is working to improve areas of concern brought to them by employee's
