Pros

Every security platform manufacturer sucks up to Optiv.

Cons

Wants to be a services company but still has a box-pusher mentality. Company routinely falls short of its commitments and puts out an inconsistent, usually poor services product. Benefits are atrocious. Blackstone ownership means they squeeze every penny and have so many policies that are meant to financially benefit the income statement and balance sheet at the expense of the employee. Management talks about improvements in offerings, but delivers nothing.

Pros

Optiv is an amazing opportunity to be part of a company that is the largest in its space. We are the largest vendor partner for most of the Gartner MQ Leading vendors as well as countless new vendors. The ability to work with large enterprise clients and have a great company story and vision open a lot of opportunities. A lot of work has been done to hire really high quality employees in the field.Investments in sales training is a positive direction.

Cons

The recent merger to create Optiv from Accuvant & Fishnet Security was a massive undertaking to do so much in such a short period of time. There are still a lot of things that are being worked through. There has been turn-over as legacy people in key positions have moved on and the change in people adds to the stress. Management works hard to stay focused on moving forward and staying positive. The benefits are expensive and while they are a good package of benefits the company could do more to make them affordable, the cost of making benefits cheaper in the bigger picture of a $1.5B+ could REALLY increase employee morale.

Pros

Great working conditions, good pay, and cutting edge security work. Many great people. Great opportunites for people who are self-directed.

Cons

Benefits have been cut too much and the merger has resulted in too many broken processes. Accuvant always hired top-notch talent but a few people with weaker skills have slipped through during the rapid growth.
