Pros

- Fully remote before Covid. Haven't had to use my camera once - All hardware such as laptop, monitors, docking station, etc. provided - Unlimited PTO - Great people - Continual improvement in tools and processes - Annual raises! coming from federal contracting world where your salary stays the same I was delightfully surprised by this. - Quarterly bonuses - Pays for / Reimburse for certifications, annual certification fees, any additional hardware I need (ie. headset). - x1.5 pay for volunteering to work holidays

Cons

- 401k is average I think? I don't know I'm not an expert on these - Sometimes onboarding a new client can be smoother. The alert volume is high for that client until the content gets tuned based on their feedback (ie. authorized scanners, normal expected activity)

Good but not great

Pros

I am able to manage my work work - making it as good (or not) as I want to. I like everything to run like clockwork so this works for me and it is rewarding to know I’ve made a positive impact for the group I support without much direction. The “recharge” policy for time off is good (unlimited PTO with manager approval) and the people I have worked with are mostly all great people. Optiv has worked very hard to not have layoffs due to COVID. We have laid off one department during COVID that had minimal sales in the 6 months leading up to March 2020 but that’s all I know of.

Cons

Gender diversity in Optiv is definitely lacking. Optiv has implied that diversity is a main focus however only one of nine positions in the C-Suite is filled by a female so you tell me. The past 3 or 4 high level positions filled and communicated company wide for the past few months were filled by males. My department is mostly male and I question if I will be able to move up due to my gender. My qualifications and proven performance outweigh most of my coworkers and this is still something I think about almost daily. Departments are siloed and direct leadership is not transparent. There’s a lack of enforced work standard (no quality assurance departments) leading to inefficiencies and inaccuracies in our processes across the board but especially in our systems.
