      Pros

      Worked with me to move towards career goals and technologies I was interested in. Work life balance was not bad.

      Cons

      You sometimes get presented to clients as an expert in something you literally just learned and have no practical experience with, which feels dishonest. It's also possible to get entrenched in a project you may not like for years, just because the client doesn't want you to leave and optiv wants to have good relations with the client. Also the bonus is tied to billable hours per quarter which you may not have any control over.

      -Unlimited PTO -Work from home -Decent pay

      Cons

      -Demand is very low -Highly unstructured/dysfunctional -Lack of opportunity to reach targets in order to receive incentive pay -Funding for trainings/certifications is inconsistent -Engagements are pretty small

      Good (not great) Day-One benefits. Some ability to work remotely but frequent mandatory on-camera meeting regardless of participatory contributions.

      Cons

      Ageism galore, multiple management changes making for chaotic and unstable work environment, struggling to get away from it, but basically a value-add reseller of cyber sec products and services.
