Pros

The people at Optiver are top-tier, which makes it a super energising place to work. The problems are really interesting and the team is motivated to solve them. The culture is more collaborative than other firms, and management is very open about strategy and results.

Cons

Being on a high performing team isn’t for everyone - some days can be intense - but overall worth working with people who care.

Everyone nice, everyone smart, entrepreneurial attitude

Cons

Lots of engineers even senior lack outside experience. Hard to get anything done outside of established boundaries, lots of inertia around existing tech and lack of outside perspective makes it hard to point out problems or suggest solutions outside of expectation
