Pros

This job is one that requires attention to detail and good customer service, yet also rewards hard work. Once your storage site is cleaned and maintained, you have the freedom to read, study, or even surf the web while waiting on calls or walk-ins.

Cons

The only con is the slightly low pay, but considering the job, I don't think it's unreasonable. Also, we're a bit short staffed right now thanks to rapid turn over. While getting a manager position is feasible, moving up the ladder any more is nigh impossible.

Thanks so much for leaving your review. We wish we had more opportunities in your region for advancement, but turnover at the regional level has been at an all time low. Hang in there – you never know when an opportunity will arise!

9 to 5 and unfulfilling.

Pros

Easy work, great co-workers, get to work outdoors and indoors.

Cons

Micromanaged100%. You do not get to make any decisions that affect the betterment of "your" site. Corporate is inconsistent, inconsiderate and spends money horribly. Does not like to make improvements to sites. The expect their staff make improvements to "their" site at there own cost. Awful management.

It definitely can be frustrating when it takes longer than we’d like for repairs and maintenance. Hopefully these have all been taken care of at your facility over the past year. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.

Pros

You get to wear a good amount of hats. The people I worked with were down to earth

Cons

Training is where it's not at. Upper management had a disorganized training program. I was told it could take 2 weeks to a month or more to learn about processing the leases. I was laid off my 2nd week, since I wasn't learning quick enough. It's real shame and a let down. Also, there is only about a few people at each location, no wonder I never got to learn as quickly as Optivest Properties desired, considering the co workers always had to help customers. I felt like I could of been trained better.

Hello - thanks so much for the candid feedback - we really appreciate it! The idea of a central training facility is a good one. Although not feasible in all areas, it looks like you were here in Orange County, and we could possibly do this here. Thanks again, and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
