Pros

Optum provides an excellent, stable environment for Medical Coders. The company offers great training programs and continuous learning opportunities, which are perfect for career growth. The work-life balance is highly supportive, and the company culture emphasizes collaboration and employee well-being. Additionally, the infrastructure, benefits, and management support make it a fantastic place to work long-term.

Cons

Because it is a massive organization under UnitedHealth Group, internal processes, HR compliance, and system updates can sometimes feel a bit slow or bureaucratic. However, this is expected for a company of this scale and doesn't take away from the overall great experience.

Pros

Remote, flexible scheduling, full benefits package, although health insurance could be better especially since they ARE a health insurance company

Cons

Very little merit increase annually, usually only 1-2% not even cost of living
