Pros

Good peers at the clinic level that care about their patients

Cons

The organization is very clear that it does not care about patients, it does not care about employees, it only about the money. As an employee it is clear that the company just views you as a number in their financial model. This may be true elsewhere, but only Optum is so aggressive in making sure that you know and feel it. Frontline employee wages keep getting pushed down to "poor market conditions and performance" while exec compensation continues to set new records every year.

Pros

* You get a decent amount of PTO.

Cons

* No promotions or meaningful raises * Everything has a tight budget (except for AI) * Upper management is mostly Indian and prefer Indians to all other employees * Work has become unbearable since offshoring. Turns out its difficult to communicate with people that live in a time zone 10.5 hours ahead of yours - and when communication is difficult, everything is difficult.
