Expensive health care. My company was acquired a month before I was due to deliver my son. I had to change my health insurance from my former company's to Optum and the coverage costs more and did not cover some of my delivery and pregnancy complications. We were left with $10k in health care costs. I called Optum's HR Direct line and went through two appeals to retroactively change my insurance but my case was not accepted. I thought working for a health care company would stand behind keeping their employees and families healthy but they don't.
