Pros

• Fully remote work culture • Nobody really cares about what you do, which gives you physical freedom (but also emotional isolation)

Cons

* Disclaimer: These experiences reflect my personal case and may vary depending on team, region, or manager. Your experience could be different. • Micro-managing manager who expects you to be available 24/7 and calls you even on Friday evenings • Products outside the major offerings are nearly impossible to sell, especially in local markets • Zero localization effort – headquarters does not consider local needs or pricing structure • Constant “push! push! push!” from leadership, but no actual support or motivation • Sales Consultants are stupid, outdated, unmotivated, often sick, and completely unaligned with sales KPIs — yet they still receive 100% of their OTE • Extremely siloed organization: sales teams from other LOBs compete with you rather than collaborate • Internal politics are prioritized over customer success • Unrealistic quotas with little to no pipeline support • No career development path or mentorship — you’re on your own from day one • Expense approval is unnecessarily tight and discouraging

Pros

The Oracle name and brand are very strong in the tech industry. Well established, stable company that has ample opportunity to gain a diversity of experiences across the numerous global industry units. Great benefits.

Cons

The company is antiquated in many ways. Oracle likes to build/acquire it's own tech as much as possible, for internal use This isn't necessarily a good thing as there are many better vendors- a perfect example is their CRM tool, which is comically subpar. The company is highly verticalized with a lot of red tape and bureaucracy. The processes are extremely convoluted and rigid with too many layers of approval required. Some of the most simple task take an act of congress to complete. There is a universal sense of low morale and Oracle conducts frequent mass layoffs like so many other tech giants. It is known to have bad leadership that is highly political and adversarial. There is an arrogance that customers and partners are lucky to do business with Oracle. I wouldn't discourage anyone from the opportunity to work at Oracle but I wouldn't recommend it either. I would say that they are another example of propaganda machine, but once you get inside, it's a mess.
