Pros

-Good benefits (healthcare) -Could get away with doing little to no work (though this isn’t motivating)

Cons

-Oracle feels void of HR. Never once during my tenure did I interact with an HR person. -Terribly cumbersome internal systems (that we then sell to customers) -NO cost of living adjustments or raises (even with title increase)...they have “focal” periods 2x a year that are consistently delayed and delays/process are not transparent with employees -Definitely feel just like a number, swallowed into a huge organization -When you leave Oracle you self terminate (literally via a button) -Void of culture. Offices are old school and sleepy. Large unofficial WFH policy

Pros

Learned to recognize what I want from an employer, great peers, drastically increased my network

Cons

Management lacks integrity, murky direction, good ole boys club, low compensation relative to the market, heavy attrition (2 of 24 remained after my first year), over hire = small territories, maybe 10% of an org hits quota, negative culture, prospective employers have low regards for Oracle sales people (you'll have to talk your way out of a hole), many prospects I speak with at my new company also have negative connotations of Oracle.
