Decent Company

Pros

Great company if you really like to work overtime to meet deadlines that the company can't figure out how to schedule properly. This is also a great company to work for if you don't want to advance in your career anytime soon.

Cons

Turn over is high on the shop floor. You will most likely be underpaid and overworked. 50 work weeks are common for hourly workers. They say they don't work weekends but that is a lie. During the summer don't expect to have a two day weekends every week if you work on the shop floor. If you are salary they still expect you to put in extra hours without extra paid or compensation for those extra hours. Morale is constantly low in every department and instead of trying to fix it the higher management will be too busy trying to make themselves look good instead of making the company better.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. We’re sorry to hear that Ore Designs was not the right long-term fit for you. Ore is a growing manufacturing and fabrication company, and our work can be deadline-driven, seasonal, and demanding at times. We make every effort to plan responsibly, communicate schedule needs in advance, and balance customer commitments with the well-being of our team. We also work to provide competitive pay, meaningful work, and opportunities for employees to learn and grow within the company. As with any growing organization, we continue to evaluate where our systems, communication, staffing, and training can improve. While we may not agree with every characterization in this review, we do appreciate employee feedback and take it seriously. We remain committed to building a workplace where employees are treated respectfully, expectations are clear, and people have the opportunity to do good work and develop their skills. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.

We're sorry to hear you wouldn't recommend Ore and disappointed we didn't get a chance to discuss your experience in person. We want to understand better our employees' frustrations and then get to work on making improvements. We take feedback to heart and then we work hard on making things right. We are actively revamping our compensation strategy to ensure we pay a fair and competitive wage not only to our new hires but all of our employees. We're also training (new and existing) employees with a new certifications and qualifications program that will increase our employees' skill level and pay. We are hiring more than ever to bring in experienced talent to help share the workload ...this includes responsibilities that owners have previously handled. If you're interested in learning more about these (and other) programs Ore has implemented and will continue to implement, we'd love to talk ...and listen. You can reach the Human Resource Department directly by calling 801-677-0340.
