Pros
The clinic I worked for merged with OVRA a few months ago. It was a bit of a transition but we were working through it. We were a single doctor practice with 1 full time staff and 2 part time. When we merged we had rotating staff from the main building who were all surgical assistants. They were amazing. Really easy to work with and get along with, they were always willing to step up. The front office staff was amazing too and was always willing to find a solution to scheduling conflicts or reschedule people if we had to close early for whatever reason. Even the people at the other building I hardly ever saw were easy to get along with and everyone was just focused on getting the job done and making sure the patient was taken care of.
Cons
The cons are strictly for the upper management. The CVTs, assistants, front staff were nothing but great while I was there. Since the merge management seemed a bit scattered. There was a lot of ideas that wanted to happen but not really any plan of action. And the chain of command seemed to be a bit shaky. There were also some negative tones towards veterinary assistants, at least in my experience, where I felt my opinion didn't matter. And just overall hostility. I'm not saying this is the case for everyone who has worked there, many people I have talked to love working there. Just my experience with management involved a lot of negativity and I felt there was no room for discussion on anything or reassurance. Just "this is how it is because I said so". I found there were no explanations given or examples.
