Pros

Only good thing is that salary will be paid on time, and good friendly relationship among employees.

Cons

I have been with Orion for 5+ years and have lost much of my valuable and precious time which was supposed to be with my family. There will not be any sort of work life balance. Need to work on weekends continuously(both days) during releases which happens almost every 3 months and unplanned patches in between. Comp offs will be provided for the weekend work.If somebody is not able to come on weekends, there will be calls coming from the leadership asking for reason. If an employee is not available on weekend, they need to apply for leave as well as per the changes from new leadership team. There is no proper planning from the management , In the morning there will be an email from onshore to create a patch, test and deliver the same day. Most of the releases happen by next day morning or even later, everyone need to be in office waiting for the fixes overnight. This is one classics example on how the company runs. The status calls from onshore is like a question answer session. Most of the onshore team behaves very badly at the offshore and there is lot of frustration within the team. There is too much of pressure on everyone at offshore team. There will be celebrations planned on Xmas and Onam time and also releases planned on the same day . Whoever is participating in these celebrations need to work late night to complete the tasks. There is lot of micromanagement from the lop level as well. The new leadership is trying into bring many employee unfriendly policies. The appraisal cycle will be delayed for 4-5 months every year, arrears will be paid even though. During the work from home time, it is a sort of 24/7 work support from home.

Pros

You should not have to work and get a mac book to surf youtube (Only if you are a manager or BA) The manager is highly skilled in technology who can even take remote of the crashed server, add alert[) to Java code and have the ability to finish a large scale project in 2 weeks. You can get dinner and breakfast reimbursements ( Only if you came by 4 AM Morning and Leave by 11:00 PM) You can get yearly appraisals with 2 to 3 months delay which is normal( Only if you give the commitment to work for next year) You can get a free coffee ( Only if you are not bothered about health) Can get 5 years of experience in 3 years ( Based on Working hours assuming 8hrs is one working day ) You don’t need to wash your tiffin boxes if you are not a manager. You will not lose code anywhere but you need to commit and push code on any emergency. Your working times will be monitored very accurately. Because Vernalis is having RFID enabled doors to automate attendance, a tablet for manual entry, Admin to note the attendance, BA to send same attendance report to admin again. You will get 12 Casual leaves( Only if you send a mail before 2 weeks) You can park your family vehicles inside office parking ( Only If you are a manager ) They will change the policies very often( Only if the policy change is favourable to management like the cancellation of leave reimbursements) You will get exposure to multiple technologies, multiple clients even connection with multiple politicians like Tech Leads, Managers. You will not be distracted by the internet inside office since all the sites are blocked for developers. but Vernalis is web apps development company for a sake. You will not be distracted by mobile while working( Only if you are a developer, to safeguard the client data from developers, Still BAs and Managers can use mobile since they don’t know about clients).

Cons

The company doesn't have any positive values. they are simply sucking the blood of poor developers. Some project has the inappropriate proportion of developers and one who monitor developer like Tech Leads and BAs. The Quality of the product is very worse because developers have 2 weeks to develop and BAs, PMs have 2 months to decide when can we start the project. If Dev's have enough time to develop, there is no need to lick the feet of onsite teams and clients. Management does not believe the developers that's why they have enforced restricted internet access, monitoring proxies and ban of mobiles inside the office. Salary is very less and no perks at all.
