Pay was decent, taking truck home at night was nice even though you have to pay about 63$ a check, me a lot of cool people at accounts i serviced.
Cons
Very stressfull to finish route considering how many accounts there are and how spread out your territory is and the way orkin makes you spend an hour per 100$ service, though its only enforced with certain techs, others get away with doing 20 min services for somewhere paying $200. free call backs provided to customers who dont even qualify for them, some days you will get 3 or 4 in a day on top of the 10 you have scheduled, making you work an extra few hours for free, makes it hard to have any plans after work. Orkin is also one of the most expensive pest control services out there, so you will end up with lots of cancels due to price, which reflects you in a negative light to orkin even though you had nothing to do with the price, it also affects your bonus. I was let go due to them helping me finish about 3-8 stops a month while dealing with medical problems, also when i let them know i had an appointment with a specialist, i was told "well just so you know, there isnt going to be anyone to help you". After surgery i never needed help but was told due the help they had to given me before i was being let go. Forget about using vacation,they dont do your stops for when youre off, leaving you with another 50-70 stops to fit in by the end of the month. they complained numerous times about people taking time off, also forced us to use our vacation only between june-aug due to having a seasonal employee for those months but they still didnt finish anyones stops. Now they are cracking down on making you go out and make tech sales while trying to complete your route though they have an entire sales team at each branch. No room for advancement, they hire people with no experience off the streets before allowing employees to apply or even know about the position. After your first year, they quit giving you raises and try using the excuse that the annual 10% price increase for customers is your raise.
