High Stress Environment for Low Reward

Pros

- New change in CEO and reorg of leadership in the last year that has real potential for turning things around and improving current culture and leadership styles. - No health insurance premiums, but...(see cons) - Some of the projects are cool and include work with the National Park Service - Great intentions with DEI and sustainability efforts. Progress is being made on both initiatives but may feel slow to some. But it's definitely better than nothing

Cons

- Very low salaries. They try to entice you with your healthcare premiums being 100% covered and explaining away the lower salaries for that reason, but they're still far below market for every city they have an office in - Significant dysfunction on a regular basis in many of the departments in Colorado and Oregon offices. So much so that there is a high turnover rate, and multiple departments struggle to fill empty positions for up to 6 months at a time, leaving those who are still there overworked and continually stressed. - Leadership/HR in particular is dismissive despite providing surveys for employees to anonymously voice concerns or suggestions for improvement. When issues are brought to Directors and/or Managers it's rarely addressed, and if it is, it can be months before solutions are even attempted. - Promotions and raises are rarely given in a reasonable amount of time due to the company consistently struggling to meet revenue goals, despite many teams frequently winning "more work than ever before." As a result, the teams who are performing well and are keeping the company afloat pay the price for those who are not. - Leadership talks badly about each other behind their backs and how other Directors and Managers lead their teams to their own employees. Not at all the culture they promote and claim to foster. - Most departments are disorganized and not given enough support from up top, making many projects feel like a "fire drill" and more stressful than necessary.

Pros

Co-workers are fantastic people who deserve more than they get

Cons

No leadership from the top down, bad communication that usually contradicts itself or has to be restated and corrected, high turnover, lay offs of long term staff in IT, and Marketing to bring in younger, cheaper and less experienced replacements.
