Malicious training tactics and non existent HR

Pros

Decent benefits and ability to earn PTO. Occasional bonus opportunities and employee meals on holiday. Most employees are great to work with aside from the Trainer who continues to cause high turn over in the Foot production Area.

Cons

Not great pay for a specialized operation that takes skill and care. Poor communication amongst middle management. The trainer in the foot production area behaves in a manner that is malicious and undercuts any opportunity for growth for new hires; causing high turnover rate. The ability to finish daily work suffers because of disarray of their warehouse and lack of reciprocal adjustments the employees require and ask for daily. They have a poor habit of letting other employees who should be your equal power trip over you and punish you continually infront of your peers.

Failing work culture

Pros

- Autonomy depending on job - Take breaks (two allowed) when you want - can accrue good PTO after working here 10 years.

Cons

-No accountability on careless management destroying company culture. - underqualified and egotistical management (especially middle management) - dysfunctional almost non existent human resources. - super high turn over. Most employees are temps - no transparency on job progression or pay - low pay - horrible health insurance - no inventives - no idea sharing or innovation - absentee leaders ( especially executive level) - seems like the new business strategy for keeping costs low is to hire low pay accepting minorities. - education, qualification, experience not required to move up within company. Only need favoritism.

Production Perspective

Pros

Been around for 100 years; relatively stable through 2020. Great opportunity for OTJ training in medical device manufacturing. Cool to see and try out different processes. Occasional holiday lunches. Sometimes end of year bonus. Possibly annual raises company-wide; had a couple 3 percent raises.

Cons

Entry level pay is, well, entry level; not enough for a family anyway. Production areas are sweaty hot in summer and cool in winter. Maintenance is a joke at SLC facility. Wait until stuff breaks then fix it or replace it. Seems like there's usually a leak or light out in the restrooms that takes weeks to get fixed. Advancement within production is very limited.
