Pros

95 out of the 100 brightest people I ever met work at OutSystems. And they aren't only the brighter, but they also share some core values (honesty, responsibility, curiosity, helpfulness). Those are the values OutSystems expects from any worker. OutSystems has an awesome product, top of the market, and the talent to keep it on top in the years to come, so the company future is bright. I've been learning so much during all my time at OutSystems, in several roles and teams, and I've been having so much fun while learning and delivering a product that our customers love, that I don't see myself leaving anytime soon.

Cons

If you like to be the star of the team, you like to always have it your own way, or you don't like change, you may have a hard time working at OutSystems. Everyone will be open to listening (really listen) to your opinions, but you will be surrounded by the smartest and brightest people you will ever meet, so there are no stars in the team stars, and the big decisions are a team effort. And although the culture is the same, and you have a clear definition of goals and directions, we are always experimenting and looking for ways to improve, so it might feel overwhelming for those people who like to be in the same place doing the same thing day after day after day.

Best place to work for in Portugal

Pros

I'm a returning employee, having worked at OutSystems for multiple years, then moving to one of the top tech companies in Silicon Valley for several years, and returning now to work on a new challenge for the company. I had plenty of other options to choose from, but returning to OutSystems was a very deliberate choice as I felt that I wouldn't be able to find a better place to work for in Portugal. The culture and people are excellent, the opportunities for growth are immense, and you will always feel that you can have an impact, that you are heard, valued, and that you contribute to achieving great things in the company. Furthermore, we have a great product and while we're still growing, we are a startup at heart and everyone has a lot of exposure and opportunity to make things different and better.

Cons

It's starting to grow to a size for which it still doesn't quite have the right processes in place to scale. The processes are identified and being put in place, but they're still not there yet - and what worked for a 200-person company with a few offices worldwide doesn't quite work now at this scale. Still, it's part of the process of growing, and the good part is that everyone is aware of that and keen on making that work.
