Pros

Working with young people, being able to teach your seniors how to do work, drinking like management at work and after work, getting to see the owners of the company come in at noon and leave at three, and a nice looking work space with outdated equipment.

Cons

At Outerbox it is all about looking like the cool, hip startup when really the truth is most employees are run into the ground with a overload of work and then let go when burnt out. The clients are annoying but if run properly by those in charge would probably be fun to work on. Usually at Outerbox the "management" is all about getting the first two out of three payments and then not caring enough about their business to see the project thru until the end. When I was there most current employees, with myself included, we're searching for new jobs. Also Outerbox's management does look on this website on a frequent basis and influence their employees to post positive comments about their business. The statement of "all work done I house" is completely false. Almost all development is outsourced and the development that is done in house is very underwhelming and usually not delivered on time. It may look like there are a lot of employees that work there that is all just for show when clients come in. The fact is the less employees that work there means more profit for the owners. Their creative department is very dated in their execution and account management is usually sent out to drown in front of the client and make up excuses.

Not what it seemed to be at all.

Pros

The office has a really cool, hip and modern look. Sometimes Fridays involve beer.

Cons

Upper management is awful. I was never even acknowledged by the CEO, and it is a small company. Not a fun work environment, a lot of drama and negativity. A LOT of things are out sourced. I was never welcomed or felt a part of the team. They try to act like a hot startup company, but they lack the skill and charisma.

A great SEO team

Pros

Being on the SEO team I learn a lot and have a great time. We have great collaboration and meet to discuss strategy. For me, that is a big plus. My last job was more "do this, do that" instead of being able to bring ideas to the table. It's much more fulfilling!

Cons

I would say the main thing is the northeast Ohio weather! If you move here, make sure you like snow and a long winter. Other downsides are somewhat typical, you do have a lot of work to do. Doing SEO reports (they are detailed) are not fun, but I understand why management and clients want them.
