Pros

Conservative midwest company that does not take risks World class technology, systems and people Financially sound in attractive industry structures Will be around for another 60 years

Cons

Constantly reshuffles the deck. Believes that org structure changes are good for the business and they constantly move people around. Too many vice-presidents, especially HR. CEO is well liked but he hires poorly. He likes to be the smartest guy in the room. Very political company. You need to be constantly on guard.

Pros

Depending on your role the work-lift balance can be either good or bad. Jobs at HQ in Toledo are probably worse for that than at a plant or in the field. Pay levels are fair, but there is a need to negotiate that and benefits are OK.

Cons

Systems are not top notch and implementation of new ones is done very poorly. As mentioned work-life balance at HQ is not great for many roles. Union environment at some facilities can make life difficult when it comes to asking for things to get completed, but most folks are flexibile. Lots of old-timers holding on to the way things were need to get with the program and realize the world has changed.
