Pros

Before COVID started, free beer and Friday lunches were good. Oh, and they send you Birthday cake truffles for your birthday.

Cons

Where to start... 1) WooHoo emails....you will get bombarded daily about wins and opportunities created....and instead of people replying to the people involved in the win, they email the entire company, you are stuck in a never-ending email chain of fake happiness 2) The sheer amount of meetings with no actionable items. This company loves to "share best practices" when in most cases, larger companies have had discussions about backing up their data and you simply got lucky with timing...but let's host an enablement meeting on how you got that luck..... 3) Management has no clue to connect to people nor have a sense of the pulse of their employees. At best they are a bunch of glorified dashboard readers and do not inspire any of their employees to go out and give it their all or address easily fixable problems 4) If you get the right territory, you will succeed, if you don't, you won't. Do not expect any assistance from the marketing team, as since COVID started, putting together a webinar that 20 people may attend to get a free gift card seems like a big ask. 5) The opportunity for growth is almost non-existent at best. They love to hire externally and lately have hired a ton of middle managers while chopping pay for newer sales hires. 6) They handled COVID extremely poorly, as if it did not exist. Several employees got COVID and many knew those who died from it, but their focus is getting back to the office for more fake culture. Speaking of the office, no one is wearing masks and the CEO is expanding and spending even more money on it, so while the rest of the world is turning to more work from home (from a happiness and better life balance) OwnBackup is going to force you back for some more "culture"

Pros

Nice office, free lunch… decent products

Cons

Lost all momentum. Inexperienced leaders. Horrible rebrand that hurt the company. No one likes to say they work at “Own company.” Managers seem to only care about protecting their seat and playing politics.

Pros

The product was actually built really well.

Cons

Selling data backup is more like selling life insurance, it's mainly fear based. The massive amount of inbound leads they tell everyone upon hiring is misleading. Also, the high closure rates are misleading too as they look for you to create opportunities when they are going to be won, which can skew data. Work-life balance to OB is that they want your work to be your life. People stay late on their computers on Facebook, just because they don't want to be the first ones to leave. The culture is terrible too, coworkers spread rumors and talk about each other behind their backs, this includes people on the management team. Very much like high school.
