Pros

PACCAR Parts has done a major culture change in recent years. The newly formed Diversity Council has done fantastic job by hosting language days, pride parade event, volunteering events and food trucks come on site to spice up the food offerings. Management is really engaged in employee well being and has done multiple changes based on employee survey responses. The culture is changing and there is a lot of opportunity for growth. If people choose not to advance or grow they should stop blaming the management. There is opportunity to travel, learn more about data analysis and be a part of a team based environment. All new employees get to meet PACCAR Parts upper management 1:1. Some remodels and furniture updates have made great impact on overall culture and environment. Great 401k, pension and also vacation policy has improved in the last year. Recently more casual dress, but know when to wear your suit.

Cons

Allow working from home from time to time. PACCAR ITD allows more flexible schedule due to business model.

Pros

Good compensation & benefits (including pension and 401K), work-life balance. Historically family owned company that is focused on providing steady, solid financial performance. Don't let historical bad reviews scare you away. I've been at Paccar for about a year, and have been pleasantly surprised. The people (at all levels) are focused on improving processes and the company overall. Opportunity to grow/move if you want to, and are willing to work hard. Much has been said about the downside of the culture, and the fact that employees are expected to dress professionally. I take that as pro - PACCAR sells a premium product, and wants employees to display a professional, premium look as well. That's not a bad thing. The expectations aren't that different than if you worked for a bank, consulting firm, professional accounting firm, etc. Employees are empowered to make process improvements, and are rewarded for doing so. On-site (free) workout resources, including indoor basketball/volleyball/tennis court and walking track.

Cons

Cafeteria could be vastly improved, but with downtown Bellevue location, there are lots of other options. As a fiscally conservative company, upgrades to non-product technology sometimes seem to lag behind the times (lots of paper processes). Leadership is aware of this, and is taking steps to address these issues.

Pros

5 year pension if you are willing to stick around

Cons

Salary is low compared to other companies . Some employees get up to 10k less than others for doing the same job ! Cafeteria is in the basement while top management get to eat on their private restaurant on the top of the building. Everything is old school, men wear suits, business casual Friday's like 5 times per year and you can’t even wear jeans . Raises are about 3 percent every year unless you can switch positions you will get a higher percentage . If you are Accountant here expect to work lots of overtime and you won’t get pay for it . It should takes 2 months for them to fill an open position, and usually there are a lot of open positions since Accountants here won’t stick around for very long.
