Pros

Good work / life balance There are some very nice people who work there that truly care. Benefits are very good, except for pay.

Cons

Terrible place for a person to grow coming out of college. They do not challenge you at all and do not provide any incentives to want to grow at the company. Way to slow in adapting to the changing technologies. Do not spend money on their people or technology, which is why they have been profitable for the past 77 years. Do not provide any training. Management is terrible. No matter how hard you work you don't get rewarded or noticed. Once an intern always an intern.

Pros

PACCAR knows how to make money. If you've decided you're in for the long haul, rathole as much of your paycheck as you can into the 401 and Stock Purchase programs.

Cons

1) The "Culture of Fear" -- the closer you get to the Corporate HQ the more intense. 2) Very TALL organization; layers upon layers upon layers of junior/mid-level managers. Most of them superfluous and unnecessary. 3) Over-attachment to the almighty College Degree vs practical experience and common sense. (Nothing says Job Fulfillment like reporting to a cipher half your age and knowing he occupies that position ONLY because he has an Emm Bee Ayyy...)

Pros

If you don't like your current position they will just let you move around. You can go play around with trucks and the assembly line is neat.

Cons

Every time I step in the office I have a panic attack because it feels like I have warped through time and space and landed in the 1950's. Not just because of the office decor, but because of the suits, the culture of men work and women stay at home. There is no way they meet diversity laws. I am white and it makes me uncomfortable how white this place is. The only way to get promoted is if you are tall and white with greying hair. It has caused me and my coworkers to develop the theory of de-evolution. Where you start out standing tall and then get bent so often you eventually devolve into a monkey. Ground breaking research is being done on this topic.
