Pros

Great content, good cause, interesting people

Cons

Management seemed a bit too behind the times as far as progressive leadership is concerned, not many opportunities for advancement

Pros

Amazing mission to work for Talented colleagues Work/life balance Good benefits Exciting volunteer opportunities in DC such as the White House Easter Egg Roll Overall a fun place to work

Cons

Politics sometimes gets in the way of what is best for the brand/organization Recession and reduced funding resulted in several rounds of layoffs but work output expectations increased - some employees felt as if they were doing the work of 2 or 3 people. Morale isn't always high Very top heavy organization - lots of lower level staff have been let go while senior management seems to grow Salary information is public knowledge, there's a huge disconnect between the senior staff and everyone When there is a problem with a staff member, process, vendor or anything really, it takes a very long time for anything to change - sometimes years.

Pros

Because it's a small operation, there are lots of opportunities to learn about all aspects of TV and radio production and distribution. Plus, it'sa good place to learn what non-profit statues entail in a media environment - if you're coming from a for-profit organization.

Cons

The environment is very cliquish. People do not speak to people outside of their small circle of friends and because it's a small operation this is very noticeable. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is just entering the media business because the envrionment and co-workers alone will cause them to become jaded with the industry and non-profits.
