Pros

Awesome coworkers that are like family, very positive environment for the most part, the experience you gain from working here is valuable and will look good on a resume when applying for future IT jobs, if you didn't know much about computers before- you will learn a lot during your time being employed here. There is a lot of encouragement to learn not just for the topic of IT, but financing and budgeting, self improvement, etc. The employee discount on certain things such as accessories is a nice bonus. Company parties with the opportunity of meeting new people, socializing and interacting with others, and of course- free food during those events! Dental and Healthcare is provided- but it seems to really only be worth it if you are a salaried employee

Cons

When I first started here, everything was amazing- I had no complaints in the beginning. But after being here for awhile and witnessing all sorts of shenanigans, I no longer have a "no complaints" mindset. For starters, salesmen are the top dog of this company, they are the ones with all the power, even overthrowing store managers in terms of influence. Sales will always give a company profit, it's understandably very valuable to a lot of businesses- but the amount of influence and power salesmen have over store managers, let alone everybody else? It's absurd. Lots of people that have done shady things that should have been terminated were kept on because they make the money, on top of other examples. They are the ones in the company paid the most as well- surpassing a lot of other roles in the company in terms of income which sometimes feels it promotes the shady salesmen mentality. Technicians seem to be on the lowest end of the food chain, salesmen will steal a lot of their tech commission from upgrades and/or services and not be punished for it. Techs are also one of the lowest paid employees in the company despite them being vital to the warranties that this company promises its customers. The only way to get a raise as a tech is to pass their tests and demonstrate competency in computer components- after that, it doesn't matter if you have been with the company for 1 year or 10 years- if you are still a tech, you aren't getting another raise after that unless you are promoted to be in a new position. Commission earned used to be higher, but they kept decreasing the amount of the commission you got to keep over time to where there just seems to be no incentive for you to reach them. Lately, getting certain parts from our warehouse has been impossible; zero communication, zero updates- so when customers come in yelling at us for not getting a part in that they ordered, or a part that needed to be warrantied for their computer- we are the ones that have to deal with them being upset, there seems to be no urgency and no repercussions in place for those in the warehouse not doing their jobs either as it keeps happening... and each time it's happened- the process has dragged out longer, and longer, and longer to the point of where we have been accused of never ordering the parts to begin with from an upset customer. New policies seem to be rushed out without being fully thought through as well in most cases. Sometimes the policies seem to go against the business's vision as far as providing solid customer service goes as well.

Pros

Ability to learn a lot Fun work For the most part, when your not being told how much you suck because you didn't sell a lot of systems the day before, it's an awesome work environment and people to work with in store Good employee discount on computers and parts

Cons

The over all fact that all the company cares about is money. They will hire anyone... Literally. They hired a guy who is a neo-nazi but because he is selling a lot of computers it's all ok. The extremely over exaggerated salary you can make. Low wages for what a computer technician should make. Company hires people who are oblivious to how a computer works and only cares about the ability to sell, but hires them as computer techs. The dishonesty that is almost encouraged when it comes to selling. Using selling "techniques" and training material from Jordan Belfort whom is a convicted felon because he stole millions of dollars from his clients... (Red flag there) The borderline disgusting condition each store is in, stained carpets, work stations that are falling apart and the smell of each store.
