Pros

The benefits at PenFed are pretty good. They give you a Christmas bonus if you qualify, health insurance is good, with health incentives for having an annual physical and not smoking. The 401 K is matched up to 4%.

Cons

So many managers don't communicate well with other managers, and poorly with their staff. There are so many inconsistencies with one manager saying one thing, and another something else, that you start to feel like you're developing schizophrenia and losing your mind. The Member Service Representative role needs to be better defined, as their are so many things we are responsible for, we become every departments middle-man, and it really sucks when you hear complaints of other departments poor communication, and can do very little to combat this. The MSR job also needs to get paid more, as we do probably the most difficult work, bring in a bunch of revenue, and get paid under $14/hour. This is a higher end customer service position, and we should get paid like it.

Pros

Benefits are good. Metro nearby. makes walking to work easy. Onsite cafeteria and gym.

Cons

It's like waht the other review says that crap rolls down hill. I've seen my boss humiliated four times in the last week including racial slurs you wouldnt expect aimed at a white man. Its common for "e team" members to leave employees in tears. Thye dont trust their own people and they constantly abuse, screma, and yell at them. The pay is subpar for the treatment employees receive.

Pros

Good benefits, quick accrual of paid time off, excellent pay for specialized departments.

Cons

Frank Pollack once told us in a meeting "I don't pay my managers to be loved," and that is certainly true. Employees are worked into the ground in environments with little to no morale and even less opportunity to be promoted. If you have any kind of health problem or try to get HR to help you with a problem in your department or with a supervisor, you can forget about ever being promoted or even demoted. The department I worked in lost people over and over -all for the same reason: harassment by their supervisors. Somehow all investigations lead to the victim being at fault.
