Pros

there are none, paychecks do clear,

Cons

They treat professional employees as if they are delinquent children. Management can not forecast workload so their answer is the employee being on call at a moments notice for overtime and weekend work. Management is all Countrywide retreads who run the company like a sweat shop. There is no consideration for employees quality of life and no raises are given to the worker at this company. A person was hired to change the culture and she was fired within 1 month. They do not want to change. They do not allow work from home when all we do all day is work in front of sit in front of computer screens.

Pros

not a far commute from where I live. There really is none. There aren't even enough microwaves to heat food.

Cons

hmm... There is no room for growth. Even when you switch positions your pay doesn't increase. We were told we would get a bonus and guess what? they took it back lol. Benefits are terrible, morale is terrible, communication within internal parties is HORRIBLE. Goodluck asking a question to another department and getting a response. Even when your manager reaches out to the other department sometimes they still don't respond. The place is laughable. If I could give negative stars I would.

Pros

Penny Pantry is very convenient for lunch (if you work at the Moorpark office) For the most part the people are nice

Cons

Pennymac is the type of company that wants to squeeze the most possible out of employees while giving as little as possible in return. - vacation policy - 2 weeks (3 weeks after five years). pretty pathetic compared to what some companies are offering - holidays - only 8 per year. So if you are accustomed to getting the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas eve off, you'll be spending two of your meager 10 vacation days for that. - health insurance is expensive and not very good - even stingy about bathrooms. Never have I been at a company where on a daily basis I had to go to another bathroom because the one I went to was full - seems gung ho about open seating (I think this is so they can watch you continuously). there seems to be a mistrust of employees, assuming people will not do their jobs if they aren't out in the open. (also reflected in the policy that nobody can work from home because they won't know if you are working). I guess they don't realize they can look at your work output / quality to see if you are doing a good job? - no raises for cost of living. If you are just doing your job and not striving for promotion (some people don't want more money for more responsibility, they are happy at their level), you won't get a raise. Which means as the years go by, you are effectively paid a little less each year. Of course they say that they are working to improve the culture. I seriously don't expect much to change. The person they hired to work on it (exec level) quit after one month.
