In the Customer Service department there is a lot of politicking, the management treatment is very personalistic and strategic information is kept in silos, there is no clear team structure and no transparency over responsibilities and processes. As a result, the worker's future in the company depends on whether they make friends with the boss. It is possible to work from home, but as there is no clear lead, there is a lack of coordination, processes are unnecessarily duplicated and stress within the team undermines performance.

Performance doesn't really matter. All that matters is how you can position yourself within the company. If you have good connections or if you are attractive, you don't really have to do any work, suckers will do it for you. It is a company where nothing is ever good enough, but they keep people around even if they are always late/don't show up/show up drunk or drugged. You have to be the lowest common denominator. But they also ignore or even punish initiative and peak performance.
