Pros

A stress free team like working environment. Respectful hourly pay compared to the other big chain local retailers. I posted my resume on line then went right into the store and told the manager that I wanted to work there. I was hired on the spot if I passed drug test and background check.

Cons

More like a merchandising job with some customer service so it is important that you like to be involved with taking care of the physical merchandise such as hanging, restocking, pricing and reorganizing with some display challenges.

Pros

Meet a lot of great customers and staff Decent Health plan "Potential" growth with the company.

Cons

Supervisors will talk bad about other associates behind their back. Age Biased. Focuses on promoting older generation first before younger no matter the skill level. Low moral: Associates feel they have been stabbed in the back multiple times (Associate of the quarter is considered a fixed joke) Low pay: Low pay all the way up the ladder. Hard to get motivated when a raise to supervisor is under 20/hour. Managers also talk about how low they are paid. Blame game: Instead of figuring out a solution to an issue; Managers and supervisors blame associates. Upper management vetoes lower managements unanimous votes. Improper balance and placement of staffing; focuses more staff in hard goods and services. Places easily angered employees in high pressured customer environment. Favoritism: Manager provides gifts to his favorite ( older generation ) employees on multiple occasions. Manager hides from any employee conflict. If he is cornered to address an issue, he will sit there without saying a word (Associates made this a game on how long he will stay silent when talking to him)

Pros

This is a great place to gain some retail experience. If you enjoy your work and succeed in what it is you do, then you will be noticed and rewarded.

Cons

Was never really too enticed with a career in retail. Was offered managerial positions on a number of occasions but had no desire to move up. They love to promote from within their ranks
