Roles and responsibilities seem to shift constantly, creating confusion and eroding confidence in upper leadership. With what seemed to be limited understanding of air medical operations and no relevant industry experience on his resume, he relies heavily on those under him—but this dependence slows decision-making and creates operational inefficiencies, when he should trust the team to make decisions rather than getting his feedback constantly. Experienced staff are spending too much time trying to explain the basics and get permission they shouldn't need, as leaders themselves, rather than doing the work they were hired to do. This disconnect at the top cost the company both time and money, while frustrating employees who were simply trying to deliver in their roles.
