We do want to clarify the point around incentives being “taken out of paychecks,” as this isn’t the case. Incentives such as cash, gift cards or other rewards are recorded on payslips for transparency and payroll reporting purposes. You may see them listed as both added and deducted, but this is simply to create a formal record that the incentive has been paid outside of salary. If you take another look at your payslip, you should be able to see how this has been recorded. If anything still looks unclear, we’d be more than happy to talk it through with you.
