Pros

Some of your coworkers are nice. You bond amongst struggle like other service industry jobs.

Cons

There is significant discrepancy with pay amongst analysts. Assistant scientists hired before Jan2021 were paid 18/hr. Assistant scientists hired after that date were paid 19/hr. Nobody else was bumped up when the assistant scientist salary was increased. There is an analyst performed ELISA testing, working 60 hour work weeks, and constantly being criticized by his supervisor still making $1 less /hr than an analyst who runs maybe 2 low complexity tests/week. You’re constantly asked to perform tasks above and beyond your job description, but then told there’s a freeze on promotions and raises even though the company is consistently bragging about bringing in millions in profit. If you’re thinking about working here, don’t. The environment is toxic and management does nothing about it.

Pros

salary, bonuses, occasional raises and benefits were some really great pros. a lot of opportunity to move within the company to different positions.

Cons

lack of training and feedback. You were lucky if you had a manager that took time to really train you and make sure you were on track.

Pros

The employees are great to work with. Supportive culture amongst teams. Benefits are good.

Cons

Much like most of this industry, Allocations are never realistic for your study duties. Be prepared to work extremely hard and have a burnout or two. We all expect to work for our wages but you really have to be intentional to set boundaries and enforce them. Or work/life balance will not exist - even though it’s heavily promoted. But the reality is that you are just more often than not over allocated. Internal application process needs some work. Trying to move between roles can be difficult and you can be left hanging for a long time just waiting on a response to an application.
