Pros

They offered a strong benefits package in each of the positions I held. It's a very large company with lots of career opportunities in various positions. There was little micro-managing from above.

Cons

While benefits are great, compensation is behind industry competitors. You must be willing to relocate or travel constantly, if you want to advance within the company. It's a large company, so communication from the top down can be inefficient.

Pros

The pay was solid and the perks were great. Company car and phone and office equipment. The job itself was pretty straightforward for a sales job. Manageable sized territory.

Cons

I was laid off by HR. In fact the company laid off 1700 people because of poor sales. It was not performance based at all, or so I was told. They just "eliminated territories by size." So PPG did not reward hard work, because I was a top salesperson, just whatever was easier for the HR people. The severance package was good I will say.
