Pros

Great Pay and Benefits, well above others in their industry. Experienced employees that like to share their information with new employees and veterans alike. Many areas of the business to learn.

Cons

Senior Management is very hostile and the current mantra is if you don't perform you are out. As a manager I understand poor performers need to be removed if they will not perform but throwing everyone into the same bucket is neither helpful nor inspiring to myself and my subordinates. Lack of growth from middle management and 10 year veterans- as evident by only 13% of Bargaining Unit Employees over the last several years’ worth of employee satisfaction surveys indicated that they feel satisfied in their job. With lack of career development being a top concern. An overabundance of concern about share price and earnings over the last 10 years as customer satisfaction and quality of care are a distant second on the implied priorities. Quality service is a priority for the lineman and operations which is why most customers on the outside don't notice this. This focus is evident by Senior Management mentioning the words Share Price and Earnings 3-4 times over the words customer and quality every meeting. Watch your words as they tell me what your real goals are not the ones up on the wall. Being told you will never excel at this position because you are held to goals you cannot do well on and thus you will always be average is also a severe demotivator. HR policies are either missing entirely or severely lacking. I am very surprised at this from a large employer and having to get a random e-mail from your boss on what the policy is who cites another e-mail that is years old is a major flaw. This is unacceptable and I'm surprised you haven't been sued for the lack of clarity on them.
