Pros

great facility, great coworkers and support staff.

Cons

low pay, low raises, not valued as employees or departments, high turnover, mediocre 401k matching, uncomfortable holiday party where politics are mixed in, suddenly fired a bunch of people who had been loyal for years without vacation payout or severence.

Thank you for your ten years at PRO! We appreciate your dedication to our members and are happy that you enjoyed the facility, your co-workers and support staff. Although, it may seem that a bunch of people were suddenly fired, they were not fired. As many companies experiencing significant financial losses due to COVID shutdowns and restrictions, PRO was forced to reduce staffing due to the lack of financial resources and nearly 80% loss in membership. The decision to lay off staff was heart breaking and our owner was generous in paying everyone their full salary for the first two weeks that the club was completely closed as well as paid medical benefits to everyone who was put on stand-by for the entire time. The most recent layoffs were the hardest. Many great, long-term employees were laid off. The club provided compensation for two weeks that made the employee's salary whole if unemployment was not equal to what they were making and paid for 30 days of medical insurance. As far as vacation, we updated our policy in May 2020 to reflect that we were not in a position to pay out vacation for any cast members who left the club, voluntarily or involuntarily. While we did not want to have to make that choice, the pandemic has left many companies with difficult financial decisions. Prior to COVID, vacation pay was paid out to employees who left employment. Most recently, the policy has been updated, as we feel optimistic that we are moving in a positive direction and we are now paying out vacation time to cast members who give a two week notice and work their schedule during the notice period. Again, thank you for your employment at PRO. We wish you future success and good health. And, thank you for the reminder, we can never thank our employees enough. Our owners think of PRO cast as family.

Pros

they offer decent continuining education except not anymore since the pandemic started

Cons

they don't pay out your PTO when you leave despite it saying they will in the employee handbook. this is not legal. you can't use the gym to workout which is factored into your compensation, so what exactly is the point of working here? they'll give you a 1-2% raise annually and consider it to be 'generous.'

Thank you for your time at PRO. We recognize that COVID has made an impact on the employee and member experience at PRO and many of the decisions were difficult and heart breaking. Due to the significant financial losses, the expense of continuing education was put on hold until we are fully operational and revenue is more stable. Prior to COVID, vacation pay was paid out. PRO updated our policy in May 2020 to reflect that we were not in a position to pay out vacation for any cast members who left the club, voluntarily or involuntarily. While we did not want to have to make that choice, the pandemic has left many companies with difficult financial decisions. Most recently, the policy was updated in January 2021, as we felt optimistic that we were moving in a positive direction and we are now paying out vacation time to cast members who give a two week notice and work their schedule during the notice period. Due to the COVID financial impact, all compensation increases were put on hold and our President chose not to take a salary during this time. The Halloween decorations were minimal and mostly handmade to offer some value and happiness to our family memberships during challenging times.
