Pros

The free gym membership is great! They provide you with an initial nutrition assessment, personal training session, and access to most all of the club!

Cons

Low pay for this job title in King County. Most other companies are paying dollars more per hour. Company culture is gossipy and backstabbing. I've heard many people relate it to high school, which couldn't be more accurate. Poor policies in place regarding payroll. My direct deposit continued months after my employment ended, causing me to have to return thousands of dollars to the company. Nothing was offered in return. HIPAA non-compliant in several areas. Poor use of electronic medical records system. Patient safety often at risk. Medical and dental coverage is far below par for employees in the medical industry.

Pros

The teachers in Discovery Bay and the staff of other departments are all amazing people. The resources are all available if ever the leadership decides to use them properly.

Cons

On a big-picture scale, the company cares more about profit than education. On a smaller level, management of the programs in Discovery Bay (the preschool, daycare, and after school program) cares more about pleasing customers and making as much money as possible than the well-being of the children. If you like a critical and negative culture with passive-aggressive communication, favoritism among staff and clients and children, a director who is absent more than half of the time, inconsistent application of policies, undefined job responsibilities, being forced into things that aren't your job, and not growing professionally at all - then this is the job for you.

Pros

Discounts on Spa products and services. Medical benefits after 3 months of full time work. Also club membership included.

Cons

Too many supervisors trying to advance to higher management positions and management is out of date with new trends. Spa is needing a remodeling and will be getting one. However, they are adding more pools for children and present clients are unhappy with that idea. Also when you work at the club, you just don't want to work out there everyday, its just crazy for most employees to be there to work out with its members. No one really likes it.
